Catching Up....

So I am probably the worst blogger ever. Kinzee got mad at me for never blogging so this is for you Kinz.

I guess I should give an update of our summer.

I absolutely love summers with the boys and I loved this one even more because I am still on Mat Leave and got to go home to my parents for a lot of it. July is kind of a blur we went down south for Canada Day and had an awesome time with our families. We took Knox on his first hike and he absolutely loved it. Then we headed back home. We spent most of our days in Edmonton going to the spray park, The Leg, or just playing in the backyard. My boys LOVE to be outside. We went back down  to Magrath for Magrath Days. I have never missed a Magrath Days I just love them so much. It is always so much fun to get together with family and to see all my friends. This year Nick and I decided to do the 5k run together. It was such a great experience and I hope we do many more together.

Let's see August was super busy. My sister Ashylla got married and it was so beautiful. It was seriously a perfect day. Nothing went wrong which never happens. It was such a fun day. I was a bridesmaid for my 10th time and I think I am officially retiring!! It is so much harder to be in a wedding party when you have kids. I told Hallie if she absolutely wanted me by the time she gets married I would make an exception but for her only lol!! Anyways Dex was the ring bearer and the poor little guys pants fell down as he was walking down the aisle. Poor little guy was getting dragged along cause Auntie Hallie didn't realize what was happening. It was so funny and quite sad at the same time but I am happy to report that the little guy got over it pretty quick. Their wedding was so much fun and I am so glad that they are married. The boys love their uncle Matt and Auntie Ash. They spoil them rotten.

Right after the wedding Nick, Taylor, Easton, and my dad took off to do the west coast trail. They had an awesome time. While the boys where away all the girls decided we needed to take a trip to Kallispell. It was so much fun everyone got to come but Ash she wasn't quite ready to leave her hubby which is reasonable I guess lol!! Anyways we had a great time shopping and laughing the entire weekend. I had so much fun being home this summer I got to spend lots of time with my family and I loved having the extra help with the boys. If anyone knows Dexter you know that he requires adult supervision 100% of the time lol!! He is so full of energy lol!!

September came fast and once again we headed south for labor day weekend. We had to come home to say goodbye to Auntie Kinz and Uncle Chanse. It was a very emotional goodbye and we miss them like crazy but we are glad they are having a good time in Costa Rica. We wish we were there with them.

We went hiking with the family that weekend and just hung out. Nick and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary and actually got to go out on a date. It was so nice to spend time together. I love Nick so much!! He is such an amazing husband and father. I am one lucky girl.

We had such nice weather for September so we spent as much time as possible outside. Nick built the boys a sandbox this summer so we have lived in the back yard. We had such an awesome summer and I am sad that it went by so fast. My boys are growing up way too fast so I kiss and hug them every chance I get, cause pretty soon they will be to cool for that lol!!

Here are a few pics from the summer.

June

So much has happened lately.... No wonder I have no time to blog.... I will catch you up on what we've been up to.

First things first we finally blessed Knox on the 3rd of June. My family came up for the weekend and we had so much fun just hanging out and visiting. I love when they come to visit.  Nick gave a beautiful blessing and all of our family and friends came. We had a lunch at our place afterwards and it turned out great. I am so grateful for such an amazing family and such great friends.

Family Pic on Knox's blessing day!
(Dex will never look at the camera... it drives me nuts...)

Nick and I with Knox!!

After Knox's blessing I headed down south with my family to spend a week at home. We through Ash her bridal shower and it turned out great. I am so excited for her and Matt and can't wait til their wedding in August. I had such a great time at home visiting with my family and getting the extra help. I was also lucky enough to be there when my best friend Britt had her beautiful baby girl. I still can't believe we both have 2 kids. Time goes by way to fast.

Ash with her beautiful shower hat!!

We met Nick in Calgary on Friday and spent the night. We were suppose to go to the zoo on Saturday but the weather wasn't nice enough so we shopped instead. Then we headed back home to Edmonton. As soon as we got home we had told some friends we would watch their kids for them while they were gone.  So we have spent the last 10 days over at their place and I am exhausted. 3 Teenagers and 2 Toddlers equals exhaustion. I am so glad we are heading down south this weekend I am in need of a much needed break.

We all went out on a stroll one night and Dex insisted on wearing my sunglasses!!

They have a tramp and Dex loves it. We put the sprinkler
under it and he was having so much fun!!

We spent Father's Day with the kids so we didn't get to celebrate to much but Nick did get a new BBQ for Father's Day and we are looking forward to testing it out. Dex made his daddy a cute father's day gift. Nick is such a great dad and I love him so much!! He helps out so much with the boys and I am so grateful he is such a hands on dad!! I don't know what I would do without him!

Dex's gift for Daddy!!

While we were babysitting Knox also hit his 3 month milestone. I can't believe my baby is 3 months old. Time seriously needs to slow down. Knox is such an awesome baby and we love him so much!! Life is definitely a lot busier with 2 kids but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Knox is the happiest baby in the world. His favorite thing to do is to just sit and watch Dexter play.  He is cooing all the time and is constantly smiling. He just melts my heart.
I just love him so much!!

Knox Robert Bennett

Okay so I know he is 7 weeks already but I promised the birth story so here it is.

I had been having contractions on and off for about 3 weeks which was awful but what can ya do. Then finally on March 19th at about 9pm I got horrible contractions that started 5 minutes apart. So I finished packing my bag and Nick took me to the hospital. Once I got there I was admitted right away. I had to get 4 hours of antibiotics before I could deliver so I decided to get an epidural. Got my epidural tried to sleep for a bit but I was way too anxious so I just lied around while Nick slept lol!! Then at about 5:00am my epidural started to wear off which wasn't fun. My doctor came in to break my water at 6:00am then another doctor came in to top up my epidural. Dr. Mc Cubbin came back in at 6:50 and 4 pushes later Knox was born at exactly 7:00am. He weighed 9lbs 9 oz and was 21 inches long. Nick and I could not believe we had another little boy. My pregnancies were so different that we thought for sure it was going to be a girl but we are so glad to have another little boy in our family. Mommy is definately out numbered now.

Knox is such a good baby !! he has been sleeping atleast 5 hour stretches since he got home from the hospital and is just the most content little boy. Dexter loves his little brother and smothers him all the time. It is a full time job just trying to keep Dex off of him but we have adjusted and things are great.

I still can't believe I am a mother of two!! There is nothing I love more in life than being a mother!! I love both of my little boys so much!! I am going to be one busy momma for the next few years but I am looking forward to it!!

Knox just a few seconds old!!

Dex is 2!!

Well I can't believe my baby is 2!! I am not going to lie I may have cried a little on his birthday because he is growing up way to fast and these last two years have flown by. I also think I am getting anxious for baby number 2 to get here!!

Dex's actual birthday was on the 15th and we just spent it at home with just the 3 of us! We had Dex's favorites for dinner Pizza and milkshakes. He was in heaven. Then we hid his presents around the house and let him go and find them. He got quite a few gifts we spoil him way to much so I guess it is a good thing we are having another baby lol!! After he found and opened all his presents he played with his cars til bedtime and it was a great night.

On the 18th we threw Dex a party with all of Nick's family and it was so much fun!! We went swimming in St.Albert and Dex had a blast with his cousins like he always does. He loves the water. He is such a fish and has no fear at all. His favorite part was probably the waterslides and his dad got pretty tired out from taking him up and down the slides lol! I decided to swim too and I am just glad my water didn't break.. (I am feeling very HUGE these days lol) After swimming we came back to our house and had a spongebob party. I decorated the house and it was a lot of fun.  We had Krabby Patties for supper with lots of yummy finger foods. The kids were in heaven. I also attempted to make Dex a spongebob cake and I think it turned out pretty cute!! After dinner Dex played with his cousins and had tons of fun!! It is always so much fun to get together with family!! There were quite a few missing but we were grateful for the family members that came to celebrate Dex's birthday with us.

Still hard to believe my little man is 2! He is such a big boy and has changed so much!! He is talking a lot more now. Still a lot of gibberish but for the most part I can figure out what he wants. I think he is going to be such a good big brother and I can't wait for the new baby to get here.  I am almost 36 weeks so only a few more weeks to go!! This pregnancy has definitely  flown  by. Anyways I am so grateful for our little man and we love him so much!! I couldn't imagine our lives without him!! We love you Dex!!

I am 2 and crazy lol!!

So Busy...

Life seems to be so crazy right now... These night shifts are killing me but I only have 11 more shifts of work and then I am done!! Which means baby #2 will be here before we know it. I am starting to freak out a little, but ready or not this baby is coming. I can't believe I am going to be a mother of 2 but I am very excited.

Dexter's 2nd birthday is next week and I can't believe it. These last 2 years have flown by and Dex is definitely not a baby anymore. I am frantically trying to get ready for his big bash next week but it's so much more work when you are hugely pregnant lol!! And chasing around my crazy toddler 24/7 doesn't help. Anyways we are doing a spongebob theme this year so I promise to post pictures. Sometimes I wonder where did the time go... I can't wrap my mind around the fact that I have a 2 year old. it actually makes me a little teary. Dexter is so full of energy and is always on the go. Sometimes I get exhausted just looking at him but I love him so much!! He is the most loving and funny little boy I know. I feel so blessed to be his mom and we just love him so much!!

I am also so grateful for my husband. I am seriously the luckiest girl. Nick is such an amazing dad and husband. I am definitely spoiled and I love him to bits. I love watching him and Dex together it just melts my heart. I love my little family so much and can't wait for this little one to get here. The anticipation is killing me to know if this little one is a girl or boy...

33 weeks and couting

He is such a goof!!

Christmas Holidays

Sorry this is a really long one!!

Well this year it was our turn to spend Christmas in Wetaskiwin and we had a great time!  We headed out to Wetaskiwin on the 23rd this year. It was the 4 year anniversary of the death of Nick's dad this Christmas season and we all miss him. It was really nice to spend the evening with Nick's family and just be together on this hard day. It is so nice to have such a great family!!

We ate way to much food on Christmas Eve with Grandma Bennett, Katie, and Taylor. It was very quiet but we still had a great time. Entertaining our little man was a little challenging since he was the only kid around that night but he really bonded with his uncle Taylor. It was pretty dang cute!! He followed him everywhere lol!! I made us matching Christmas PJ's this year and they turned out so cute!! I was quite impressed with myself!!
Dex woke us all up at 7:30 Christmas morning to open gifts. I don't think Taylor and Katie were impressed lol!! Nathan got home late Christmas Eve night so it was nice to see him it had been over a year since we had seen him last. Anyways we opened gifts and Dex got extremely spoiled like usual. I don't know what he is going to do when baby #2 gets here. It should be fun... This year was the first time that Dex actually really enjoyed opening his presents.  He was actually a little disappointed when he had opened them all . And he had a good dozen to open not including his sock. Spoiled little turd lol!!

After opening gifts we all went to church and enjoyed a wonderful service.  Everyone came over for Christmas Dinner (except for Craig he had to work.... boo!!). Dex had so much fun playing with his cousins and was quite obsessed with his new cousin Brody who was only a few weeks old. (hopefully this is a good sign lol!!). It was a long hectic day but it is always fun when everyone gets together. It was really fun to see how much Dex has changed since last year. He can actually play with his cousins now and have a good time.  Quite a few of us spent the night and then we had to head back into the city on boxing day. I had to work the 26th and 27th.
On the 28th we headed to Magrath to see my family!! Apparently Dex was super excited to get there because he woke Nick and I up at 6:00am. We tried to wrestle him back down to sleep but he wasn't having it. So we left the house by 7!! This never happens lol!! It was a long trip since I had worked til 5 that morning but I survived. Anyways we got to Magrath and of course Dex needed to open his presents immediately. Everyone was so anxious.

Grandma and Grandpa Chipman spoiled him rotten like usual. They got him a car track, A monkey shirt from Mexico (that he loves lol), and lots of clothes. Auntie Ash and Uncle Matt bought him his first truck. You should have seen his face when he saw it. It was so cute!! Auntie Kinz and Uncle Chanse got him SpongeBob slippers that he never takes off of his feet!! Auntie Kass, Uncle East and Livi got him a SpongeBob chair, SpongeBob shirt, and 2 new books. It was like having 2 separate Christmas's.  SO SPOILED!! but we are just as guilty of spoiling him well maybe I should say I am just as guilty lol!!
Anyways it was so nice to spend time with my family!! I love living in Edmonton but I miss my family a lot. It was nice to just hang out and relax. Nick and I love going there because we actually get a break. Dex kind of gets fought over and we love it lol!!

We went out to Ash and Matt's new place for dinner one night and it was a lot of fun!! It was the first time since we had seen them since they got engaged and we are so excited for them. Ash is literally on cloud 9 and it is so awesome to see her so happy!! We can't wait til the wedding in August.
New years eve was fun!! All the Chipman Clan and Grandma Alston came over for dinner and we played games. The men watched the hockey game and the women weren't too impressed but not surprised either lol!! It was so nice to have everyone there and we had a lot of laughs and good fun!! Dex lasted til 11:30 this year but tuckered out right before the new year.

All in all 2011 was a pretty good year. Here are some things that stand out to me that happened.

  • Dex turned 1!!
  • Got preggers with baby bennett #2!!
  • I went back to work (Only have 5 weeks left!!)
  • I got a new niece who we love to pieces (Livi)
  • Awesome summer vacation's with our families (Fairmont and Kallispell)
  • Kinzee graduated and got married in the same year lol!! (We love Uncle Chanse!!)
  • We lost a very special girl (Nae Nae)
  • Ash and Matt got engaged!!

2011 made me realize how important family really is and my main goal for 2012 is to try to not take that for granted. Life is short and bad things happen to good people but as long as we have our families and strive to do what's right everything will be okay. A few of my resolutions this year are: Less tv,  Less Computer (facebook, pinterest, and just surfing..), Loose this baby weight ASAP (Ash asked me to be a bridesmaid in August so hopefully that will motivate me), Try new recipes and stop making the same things lol, Read my scriptures every day, and just spend all my time with my hubby and kids!! Bring on 2012!!
Here are a few pics from the holidays:
