Dexter Nicholas Bennett

Okay so last post I had mentioned that it was Dexter's 3rd birthday and now I feel like I just need to do a Dexter post.

Since the first day Dexter was born he has always had crazy amounts of energy. Dexter coming into the world was quite the ordeal and I think it was just preparing me for how life would be with our little man. I feel like time has gone by way to fast and I just want things to slow down a little. Dexter is a very adventurous child and will basically do anything.  He would probably jump out of a plane if we'd let him. This  kid has absolutely no fear which is terrifying and thrilling at the same time. Sometimes Nick and I really don't know how to handle this little munchkin but we both feel so blessed to have him in our lives.

Here are a few fun facts about Dexter now that he's 3!!

·         He is obsessed with Iron Man!! Some days I think he thinks that he is iron man lol!

·         He loves monster trucks!! If he could pick what he wanted to be when he grew up I am sure he would probably say a monster truck driver or race car driver.

·         He is such a good big brother. Nothing melts my heart more than hearing my two boys laugh together which happens on a daily basis and I love it!!

·         He never sits still. Dexter is constantly on the go, which has made winter very difficult for us because Dexter is such a wild man I haven't really been able to take the boys out on my own.

·         Dexter loves to help me cook and clean. I think maybe he might have inherited some of his mothers OCD habits which I am not sad about at all lol!!

·         If Dexter could he would be naked 24/7. Trying to keep this kid clothed is not an easy task.

·         Dexter is a very loving child. He is always giving hugs and kisses but don't get me wrong he's an aggressive little stinker too!

·         Dexter is the world's worst eater and I seriously have no clue how he survives. He basically eats crackers and cheese. I have given up hope.....

·         Dexter is 3' 3" (sooo tall and so weird lol!!), 33 pounds, and his feet are a toddler size 10. All in all Nick and I have no idea where he gets it from. It must come from the Bennett gene because there are no tall Chipman's or Alston's.

 We love you so much Dexter and are so grateful Heavenly Father sent you to us!!

Way Over Due....

Okay so I am pathetic my last blog was in October lol!! So much has happened between then and now and I need to do so much better with updating my blog so I can remember all the crazy things my kids do. Anyways I guess I should give an update lol!!

Dexter just turned 3!! I still can't believe that I have a 3 year old. He is such a cute little fart and he definitely keeps Nick and I on are toes at all times. There is nothing that Dexter won't do.... It is quite exhausting being his mom but I love him so much!!  We took him to the monster jam for his birthday and I think it is the first time since he was born that he sat completely still for an entire hour lol!! It was a miracle. We will definitely be going back next year!! We went to Fairmont with my family for his birthday and like always he was spoiled rotten. My kids seriously have it so good. I guess one of the big upsides to having kids first in your family is all your siblings can spoil them cause they don't have kids yet lol!! I am sure that will change very soon though!! Anyways we got back from Fairmont and had a party for Dex with the Bennett clan too and it was a lot of fun!! He got spoiled once again!! I have been trying to potty train this kid for about a month straight now and I am getting so frustrated but I will not give up. One thing I know for sure is that Dex is stubborn lol!! I wonder where he gets that from!! Anyways wish me luck and let's hope it clicks for him  very soon or I might be sent to the loony bin!!

Knox is almost 1!! Just a few more weeks till the big day!! Still can't believe it. This year has flown by. Knox is such a sweet child. He spends most of his days laughing at his big brother and trying to avoid being smothered by him as well. Knox is already saying a bunch of words like mom, dad, Dexter, bampah (his favorite), mamah, cheese, tickle tickle and the one I am getting all the time is no, no, no and he waves his little finger (Thanks Auntie Kinzee for teaching him that lol!!). He will be walking any day now and he just has such a sweet spirit!! But don't get me wrong he definitely has an attitude lol!! Like most men he is cranky when he is hungry or tired and screams till he gets his way. That I must admit he got from his father lol!!

Speaking of Nick he  is turning 30 next weekend!! I must admit that he is freaking out just a little bit lol!! It is a good thing that he looks so stinking young. But let me tell you boy am I glad I married someone 5 years older than me. It always makes me feel so young lol!! Nick is such an awesome husband and dad. I am one very lucky girl!! I am sure his 30's will be very good to him!!

As for me I feel like I am crazy busy but all I do is take care of the boys and study. That is literally my life in a nutshell lol!! I can't wait for school to be over and I am just praying that I can find a job that works for me and my little family. I am really opposed to putting my kids in daycare so I am just hoping that I can find an evening or nights position. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me.

 





So all in all Ii am feeling very blessed lately to have such an amazing little family!!  Although I am very outnumbered I am really enjoying being the mother of two little boys. I never had a little brother so I am having loads of fun playing with cars, pirate ships, planes, trains, and just getting my hands dirty all the time. The boys seriously change outfits atleast 3 times a day. It amazes me the kind of messes they make and the trouble they can get into but it definitely keeps life interesting and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

There's ALWAYS one child not looking lol!!

Catching Up....

So I am probably the worst blogger ever. Kinzee got mad at me for never blogging so this is for you Kinz.

I guess I should give an update of our summer.

 I absolutely love summers with the boys and I loved this one even more because I am still on Mat Leave and got to go home to my parents for a lot of it. July is kind of a blur we went down south for Canada Day and had an awesome time with our families. We took Knox on his first hike and he absolutely loved it. Then we headed back home. We spent most of our days in Edmonton going to the spray park, The Leg, or just playing in the backyard. My boys LOVE to be outside. We went back down  to Magrath for Magrath Days. I have never missed a Magrath Days I just love them so much. It is always so much fun to get together with family and to see all my friends. This year Nick and I decided to do the 5k run together. It was such a great experience and I hope we do many more together.

 

Let's see August was super busy. My sister Ashylla got married and it was so beautiful. It was seriously a perfect day. Nothing went wrong which never happens. It was such a fun day. I was a bridesmaid for my 10th time and I think I am officially retiring!! It is so much harder to be in a wedding party when you have kids. I told Hallie if she absolutely wanted me by the time she gets married I would make an exception but for her only lol!! Anyways Dex was the ring bearer and the poor little guys pants fell down as he was walking down the aisle. Poor little guy was getting dragged along cause Auntie Hallie didn't realize what was happening. It was so funny and quite sad at the same time but I am happy to report that the little guy got over it pretty quick. Their wedding was so much fun and I am so glad that they are married. The boys love their uncle Matt and Auntie Ash. They spoil them rotten.

 Right after the wedding Nick, Taylor, Easton, and my dad took off to do the west coast trail. They had an awesome time. While the boys where away all the girls decided we needed to take a trip to Kallispell. It was so much fun everyone got to come but Ash she wasn't quite ready to leave her hubby which is reasonable I guess lol!! Anyways we had a great time shopping and laughing the entire weekend. I had so much fun being home this summer I got to spend lots of time with my family and I loved having the extra help with the boys. If anyone knows Dexter you know that he requires adult supervision 100% of the time lol!! He is so full of energy lol!!

 September came fast and once again we headed south for labor day weekend. We had to come home to say goodbye to Auntie Kinz and Uncle Chanse. It was a very emotional goodbye and we miss them like crazy but we are glad they are having a good time in Costa Rica. We wish we were there with them.

 We went hiking with the family that weekend and just hung out. Nick and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary and actually got to go out on a date. It was so nice to spend time together. I love Nick so much!! He is such an amazing husband and father. I am one lucky girl.

 We had such nice weather for September so we spent as much time as possible outside. Nick built the boys a sandbox this summer so we have lived in the back yard. We had such an awesome summer and I am sad that it went by so fast. My boys are growing up way too fast so I kiss and hug them every chance I get, cause pretty soon they will be to cool for that lol!!
